We’re excited to spotlight Lily’s Vegan Pantry! Lily’s Vegan Pantry is a family-owned business that was established in 1995, and is actually the first vegan grocery store in Chinatown. Lily Ng currently owns and runs the store, which was opened by her parents when they came to the United States from Taiwan 40 years ago.
We’re excited to spotlight Artbean Coffee Roasters! The shop was started by husband-and-wife-duo Spencer Okada and Khanh Tran in July 2020. They wanted to marry their love of art and coffee together. Step into their shop and you can taste the coffee they roast themselves, and purchase art from local artists.

Donor Updates
Halfway through 2021, we’re taking a moment to celebrate milestones for our community – our team, supporters, donors, partners, and most of all – small businesses.
Read on to learn more about our 6-month impact.
We’re back with another financial update and to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate our collective effort to shed light and love on Chinatown, a beloved community by so many, and a precious one whose history, cultural significance and spirit is one we fight for every day.
In 2020, together, we raised $677,000 where 77% of all funds raised go back directly into Chinatown — that’s more than half a million dollars back into Chinatown’s small businesses ($521,290).
It’s hard to believe we recently surpassed our first six months as a grassroots initiative. So much and so little seems to have changed. While we’re still in the midst of a pandemic, major economic loss, a continued fight for racial justice, political turmoil, natural disasters… we really had to take a step back to appreciate what is good in the world, and that starts with you, our donors. Together, we have put back more than $250,000 into Chinatown’s small businesses. Thank you.
