Application Categories

Hub Event

Host a Lunar New Year event in Welcome to Chinatown’s Hub (115 Bowery)! Think pop-up markets, screenings, workshops, etc. Take a look at our events calendar for inspo!

Event in Your Space

Host a Lunar New Year event in your own space or business! (This can also include any events you already have planned, and want to add it to Welcome to Chinatown’s LNY event series). Priority will be given to spaces and small businesses located in Manhattan Chinatown.

Lunar New Year Dinner

Host a Lunar New Year Dinner! Get creative with what this looks means – maybe it’s a special menu at your restaurant, or dinner and a show. Or perhaps you want to curate and host a dinner at your favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. Priority will be given to food establishments located in Manhattan Chinatown. Take a look back at our 2023 Lunar New Year Dinner Series for inspo!

Pitches will be reviewed on creativity, feasibility and celebration of Asian and Asian-American culture. We can’t wait to see all your ideas!

Why should you pitch?

We hope to create an opportunity for testing new ideas while leveraging Welcome to Chinatown's guidance, network and audience. Last year, Welcome to Chinatown's Lunar New Year campaign was covered in publications including Travel & Leisure, Forbes, EATER, and Time Out New York with a combined coverage of 200M+.

Welcome to Chinatown

Welcome to Chinatown is a grassroots initiative to support Chinatown businesses following the rapid decline in business as a result of COVID-19 and increased xenophobia. Welcome to Chinatown serves as a free voice to generate much needed momentum for one of New York City's most vibrant neighborhoods, and offers resources to launch a new revenue stream during this unprecedented time.
